TALK-5204
The sound quality in my headset is not satisfactory.
While the Freetalk Mono Headset replaces the audio chip in your PC to provide a consistent level of sound quality, there are other issues that have been reported and verified as causing sound quality problems. The USB headset should be connected to a properly shielded 2.0 USB port to ensure the high quality sound expected from this device.
Possible trouble situations:
• A badly grounded USB port - e.g. by connecting it to an inferior USB hub
• Using a long USB extension cord
• Connecting to a USB 1.1 port instead of USB 2.0
A sound quality issue has also been reported for some PC’s with AMD processors. It is resolved with a driver called AMD USB Filter Driver SP41461.exe; according to the person who reported this, it fixes many problems with AMD's implementation of USB support.
